SIA for Microsoft Teams
Post hiring updates directly into Teams — without copying anything across
Hiring updates need somewhere to land that people actually check. Connecting Microsoft Teams lets SIA post a direct message, a group chat, or a channel update straight into Teams, instead of you copying it out of chat and pasting it in yourself.
Connecting Microsoft Teams
#- In Chat, open Connectors from the sidebar
- Find the Microsoft Teams card and click Connect Microsoft Teams
- A Microsoft sign-in tab opens — sign in with your Microsoft 365 account and approve the permissions listed
- You're redirected back to Chat and the card now reads Connected
What you can do once connected
#Once Microsoft Teams is connected, SIA can reach your colleagues directly inside Teams:
- Send a direct message to a colleague — give SIA their name or email and it resolves who that is and sends the message
- Post to a channel — in any team you belong to, so an update lands where the whole group already looks
- Pick the right person, chat, team, or channel from a list — rather than you having to type an exact matching name
- Read recent messages in a chat or channel — so SIA can catch you up on what's already been discussed before posting anything
- Preview the message before it sends — so you can ask for changes before anything goes out
Try it in chat
#Send Message
DM Gautam on Teams that the candidate accepted the offer.
Share Updates with Team
Post to the Hiring team's #interviews channel that the loop is complete.
Quick Updates
Catch me up on what's been said in the Hiring team's #interviews channel.
Nothing gets sent without your approval. SIA shows you the drafted message and waits for you to confirm before it posts — the same way it works across all other connectors.
Disconnecting Microsoft Teams
#- Go to Connectors in the sidebar
- On the Microsoft Teams card, click Disconnect
This revokes the Teams authorisation only — your other Microsoft connections, if you have them, are unaffected.
