Shortlist and Disqualify
Move the right candidates forward, and remove the ones who don't fit
Once candidates have moved through the hiring pipeline, Senseloaf gives you a clear way to act on their evaluations. Candidates who are a strong fit can be moved to Shortlisted, and those who don't meet the criteria at any stage can be moved to Disqualified. Both actions can happen automatically or manually, and if you're connected to an ATS, they sync across automatically too.
1. Automatic shortlisting and disqualification
#If you've set up the Hiring Automation Agent, candidates are moved to Shortlisted or Disqualified automatically based on the rules you've configured — no manual action needed.
Examples of automation rules:
- When Interview grade ≥ A or B → move to Shortlisted
- When Resume Matching grade ≤ C → move to Disqualified
- When Prescreening grade = F → move to Disqualified
As candidates complete each stage, the automation evaluates their grade and moves them accordingly — keeping the pipeline moving without your team having to step in at every handoff.
Automation rules for shortlisting and disqualification are set up in the Hiring Automation Agent. See the Hiring Automation article to learn how to configure them.
2. Manual shortlisting and disqualification
#You can also move candidates to Shortlisted or Disqualified manually at any point in the pipeline — regardless of which stage they're currently in.
From the candidate listing
Open the actions menu (⋯) on any candidate row and select Move to Shortlist or Move to Disqualify. You can also bulk select multiple candidates and apply the action to all of them at once.
From the report card
The same actions are available from within the candidate's detailed report card — useful when you've reviewed the full evaluation and want to act immediately without going back to the listing.
3. ATS sync
#If your Senseloaf account is connected to an ATS, shortlist and disqualify actions sync automatically. When you move a candidate to Shortlisted or Disqualified in Senseloaf, whether through automation or manually, the candidate is moved to the corresponding stage in your ATS as well.
This means your team always has a consistent view of where every candidate stands — no manual updates needed across tools.
Note: ATS stage mapping is configured during integration setup. If your ATS stages don't appear to be syncing correctly, check with your Senseloaf admin or reach out to the support team.
