SIA for Google Drive
Screen resumes straight from Google Drive — a whole folder at a time
For most teams, the resumes they already have are sitting in a shared Google Drive folder. Connecting Google Drive lets SIA read those resumes directly, up to 200 files at a time, instead of you uploading files in batches manually.
Connecting Google Drive
#- In Chat, open Connectors from the sidebar
- Find the Google Drive card and click Connect Google Drive
- A Google sign-in tab opens — sign in with the account that has access to the resumes you want SIA to read
- Review the permissions shown — this covers Drive access only — and click Allow
- You're redirected back to Chat and the card now reads Connected
NOTE: This one authorisation covers both your personal Drive and any shared or team drives you already have access to. Google Drive is its own separate connection — connecting it does not grant access to Gmail, Calendar, Docs, or Sheets.
What you can do once connected
#Once Google Drive is connected, SIA can find and use whatever's already sitting in your Drive:
- Scan your Google Drive to find where resumes live — SIA looks at folder and file names to locate candidate folders. It only reads file names at this stage, never the contents, until you ask it to screen something
- Screen an entire folder against a job — point SIA at the folder and it screens everyone in it with grades, instead of uploading files one at a time
- Add a whole folder to your talent pool — without matching those resumes to a specific job yet, useful for building a bench of candidates for later
- Open a shared Drive link — if someone sends you a link to a resume, SIA can read it directly rather than you having to download and re-upload it
- Read a single document — a take-home assignment, a portfolio, a job description, or interview notes, wherever it lives in Drive
- Turn a job description in Drive into a hiring workflow — no retyping needed, SIA reads it directly
- Save a shortlist or candidate brief back to Drive — so the output lands where the rest of your hiring documents already are

A few things to note
#- Scanning reads file names only. SIA looks at folder and file names to find resumes — it never reads the contents of your files until you explicitly ask it to screen something.
- Shared and team drives are included automatically. You don't need to connect them separately — they're accessible as soon as the main Drive connection is set up.
- Disconnecting doesn't remove past imports. Anything already imported into your talent pool before disconnecting stays where it is — only future access to Drive is revoked.
Disconnecting Google Drive
#- Go to Connectors in the sidebar
- On the Google Drive card, click Disconnect
This stops SIA from reading or writing to Google Drive going forward. Your other Google connections, if you have them, are unaffected.
