Lever — HR Workflow Guide

What happens after Lever is connected — and what your team can do from there

3 min readUpdated Nov 1, 2026

This guide is for recruiters and hiring managers using SIA with Lever. Once connected, SIA automatically syncs your open postings and candidate opportunities so you can run AI-powered matching, prescreening, and interviews without leaving your existing workflow. Results come back into Lever as notes on the candidate and as movement through your pipeline stages — nobody on your team has to re-type, re-upload, or switch between two systems.

Lever must be connected to SIA before any of this applies. If it hasn't been set up yet, ask your IT admin to follow the Lever IT Setup Guide.

How postings sync from Lever

#

SIA checks your Lever account every 15 minutes and pulls in every open posting automatically — there's no manual job creation needed on your end. For each posting it finds, SIA sets up three things automatically:

  • Job details — the role, description, and requirements come across as-is from Lever
  • A default resume matching strategy — a starting set of criteria to score candidates against, based on the posting itself, so scoring can begin right away
  • Workflow activation — if the posting already has a SIA user assigned, it goes live immediately and starts evaluating candidates

If a posting doesn't yet have a SIA user assigned, it's held in Draft rather than going live. Nothing is evaluated or acted on until someone is assigned to own it.

How candidate stage changes sync back to Lever

#

As candidates move through your hiring workflow in SIA, their stage updates sync back to Lever automatically, keeping your candidate pipeline aligned across both systems. Instead of manually updating candidates in multiple places, your team can manage the workflow in SIA and the relevant stage changes reflect in Lever automatically.

Senseloaf reads your existing Lever pipeline stages directly, there is nothing new to create. When a candidate moves from one stage to another in SIA, the corresponding Lever stage is updated, keeping the candidate's journey consistent across both platforms.

If a stage ever doesn't sync as expected, the stage mapping is the first thing to check — reach out to the Senseloaf team at support@senseloaf.com and it'll get sorted.

What lands back in Lever

#

Once an evaluation finishes — resume matching, prescreening, or an interview — Senseloaf adds a note directly to the candidate's opportunity in Lever with their score, grade, and a summary. There's nothing to configure for this, it works as soon as Lever is connected.

Your team can review the evaluation outcome directly from Lever with key insights at a glance. When they want to go deeper, they can jump straight into the full evaluation report in SIA.

One thing to note: if Senseloaf sources a new candidate into Lever on your behalf, it can create the candidate record, but it cannot attach a resume to it — Lever's API doesn't support uploading a resume file for a new candidate through this integration. Your team would need to attach the resume manually in that case. Resumes that already exist on a candidate are unaffected and fully visible to Senseloaf.

Interact with your Lever data in SIA Chat

#

Once Lever is connected, you can ask SIA about postings, candidates, notes, and pipeline stages in plain language directly from SIA Chat. The prompts below are a starting point — explore more from directly within the SIA platform.

Getting started
What can I do with my Lever integration?
Jobs and Application Status
How many candidates are in each stage of the [Job Title] pipeline?
Update Notes
Add a note to [Candidate Name] from [Job Name] in Lever: strong on system design, weak on SQL
Stage Changes
Disqualify [Candidate Name] and note the reason.

Connecting your other tools

SIA Chat isn't limited to Lever. Since your other tools are connected to SIA too, you can act on the same candidates and postings across Slack, Google Workspace, and email without leaving the conversation. Ask SIA to hand off a shortlist, a report, or a scheduling task to whichever tool your team actually works in — it'll route the request to the right connector automatically.
